G. Willard Fritz
NASHVILLE - G. Willard Fritz, 89, of Nashville, died Thursday evening, July 22, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg with Frank Shive officiating. Burial will be at the Nashville Cemetery, Nashville.
Friends may call tonight (Sunday) from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Holmes County Hospice, 931 Wooster Road, Millersburg 44654; Nashville Boy Scout Troop 356, in care of Pack 356, P.O. Box 336, Nashville 44661; or to Roanoke Bible College, 715 N. Poindexter St., Elizabeth City, N.C. 27907.
He was born Sept. 21, 1914, in Easton and was the son of George Watson and Ethel (Lance) Fritz. On Aug. 28, 1938, he married Florence Barnett Flint and she preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 1990.
He was a farmer and for 22 years was a service technician for Sears, retiring in 1978.
He attended the Church of Christ, where he served as an Elder and was an adult Sunday School teacher. He was a Scout Master for the Nashville Troop 356 and Weblos Den Leader for the West Salem Cub Scout Pack 3452. He was also a Nashville Little League coach.
Surviving are five children and their spouses, Denis M. and Madia Fritz of Red Oak, Va., Anita J. and William Sherwin of Nashville, Nathen E. and Edie Fritz of Nashville, Mary E. and Raffael Jr. Farrow of Swan Quarter, N.C. and Karen S. and Ken Hecht of Roselle Park, N.J.; 10 grandchildren, Regina M. Martin, Martin J. Fritz, George W. Fritz, Anthony J. Sherwin, Lynn Porterfield, Jennie R. Berry, Jessica Farrow, Amanda Farrow, Eddie Slone and Debbie Doss; seven great-grandchildren, Michael Martin, Jason Martin, Jeremy Anderson, Colton Porterfield, Isiah Porterfield, Shawna Slone and Christian Slone and one sister, Mary F. Castor of Nashville.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mida Fritz. |
