Herbert Flint, 69 Of Orrville
ORRVILLE -- Herbert Flint, 69, of 528 S. Vine St., died Thursday at the Community Osteopathic Hospital of a heart ailment.
He was born in Blackburn, England and came to this country in 1909. A foundryman, he started the Quality Castings in Orrville in 1927. He also owned the Berted Foundry in Columbiana and the State Foundry in Akron from 1937 to 47.
The family came to Orrville about 1914. He has been a member of the Church of Christ since coming to this community.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Devery Flint; two sons, John C. Flint of Auburn, N.Y., and Herbert Jr. of Columbus; four daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Pollak of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Ruth Handwerk of Orrville; Mrs. Florence Fritz, Big Prairie, and Mrs. Marian Steiner, Orrville RD; 17 grandchildren; four brothers, George, Ernest and Jack Flint all of England and Harry of Australia; one sister, Elizabeth in England.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. DST at the Orrville Church of Christ with Stewart L. Rodgers, minister of the family officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Frey and Gresser Funeral Home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. DST and at the church one hour before the service. |
